Put in the Miles

Helping run clubs become truly welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ runners.

A rainbow logo in June is a start. Being a place where LGBTQ+ runners feel safe, seen, and want to come back takes a little more. Put In the Miles helps run clubs do that work, one approachable step at a time.

This is not a test to pass or a box to check. It is human-led, hands-on support from people who understand both running and the LGBTQ+ community. Even taking the first steps makes a real difference.

Who it's for

Run clubs of any size, from casual social runs to competitive teams, that want LGBTQ+ runners to feel like they belong. You do not need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to start.

What you get

  • Real conversations with our team, not a form you fill out alone
  • Interactive training for your club's leaders and pacers
  • Inclusion projects that are already planned out, with templates and guides
  • Support along the way, at a pace that works for your volunteers

Why it matters

LGBTQ+ runners often decide whether a club is for them within the first few minutes of a group run. Small things, like how you introduce yourselves, how you talk about race categories, and who leads the run, send a big signal. Put In the Miles helps your club send the right one.

How it works

Four steps. Your pace.

Every club starts somewhere. We meet you there and go step by step.

01

Warm-Up

A friendly conversation with your club leaders about where you are today. No scores, no pass or fail. Just an honest starting point.

02

Training Block

Live, human-led sessions for your leaders, pacers, and volunteers. Real scenarios, real questions, real practice.

03

Race Plan

Pick from approachable projects that are already planned out, each with templates and guides. Start small and build from there.

04

Finish Line

As your club puts in the miles, we recognize the work, so LGBTQ+ runners know your club is a place they belong.
